Did you know? Creative uses for eggshells in the garden.
Did you know, eggshells are good for more than just bone health – they’re also very beneficial for your garden and indoor plants!
- Deter pests from your garden. Sprinkle crushed eggshells around freshly-planted seeds to help keep away birds, slugs and snails. Eggshells may also keep the deer from eating tender plant leaves.
Grow more tomatoes. Placing eggshells in the soil near tomatoes will help prevent blossom end rot.
- Enrich your compost pile. Eggshells added to your compost pile decompose quickly and deliver valuable calcium and other minerals to the soil.
- Feed indoor plants. Dilute crushed eggshell powder with water for a calcium-rich plant food.
