Did you know? Creative uses for eggshells in the garden.

Did you know, eggshells are good for more than just bone health – they’re also very beneficial for your garden and indoor plants!

• Deter pests from your garden.  Sprinkle crushed eggshells around freshly-planted seeds to help keep away birds, slugs and snails.  Eggshells may also keep the deer from eating tender plant leaves.

• Grow more tomatoes.  Placing eggshells in the soil near tomatoes will help prevent blossom end rot.

• Enrich your compost pile.  Eggshells added to your compost pile decompose quickly and deliver valuable calcium and other minerals to the soil.

• Feed indoor plants.  Dilute crushed eggshell powder with water for a calcium-rich plant food.
